Grandma Decker

Decker, Francelle Robson “Frankie” 83, of Mesa, AZ passed away on April 26, 2011.

Frankie lived a happy, grateful life of loving service! She was born November 21, 1927 into a loving home and was raised in Mesa. She was a descendent of some of the original settlers of Mesa and loved to talk about what Mesa used to be like. She admired the wonderful people who went before her including her dear parents Charles Innes and Clara Robson, brother Charles Innes IV, sisters Clarene (Barney) and Betty (Naegle), and daughter-in-law Sherrie. She married Clair Decker and they raised 5 children in Tolleson and Phoenix and returned to Mesa in 1981. She devoted a lot of time to genealogy and family history and was great at keeping track of those she loved and keeping them connected. Frankie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served her entire life. She and Clair served a mission in Adam-Ondi-Ahman in 1992. She spent the last years of her life caring for Clair as his ailments left him dependent.

Many wonderful friends and family members continue to cherish her. They include her husband, Clair, sons Roger, Rick, Ross and Robert, daughter Rosalyn (Schmidt), and daughter and son-in-laws Carol, Joanne, Jim (Schmidt), Mary and Cathy. 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren love their grandma as well as sisters Zula (Walton) and Delcena (Hatch). We all await a grand reunion!

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 11:00 at the LDS Church, 1345 E University, with a viewing in the Relief Society Room 9:00-10:30. Dedication of the grave will follow at the Mesa Cemetery, 1212 North Center St. Arrangements are being made by Meldrum Mortuary, 52 North Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the "Lazona Ward, LDS Church", c/o Bishop Merrill, 823 N Hill, Mesa, AZ 85203
