Tough Mudder
Twelve miles... I had never run that far. Let alone the debilitating obstacles each half mile, or the dry black-diamond-esque ski slopes we were forced to climb. It was still tons of fun to spend the four hour journey with my dad and five brothers. We had all trained (kinda) over the past several months and our family reunion at Lake Tahoe was the perfect venue for us to epically prove our manhood (or whatever).
Highlights include:
Being with my bro's
Seriously inspiring words at the start of the race from ex-military
Not being able to find enough bathrooms (maybe I tried too hard to get my fluids up)
The ARCTIC ENEMA (dive into ice-filled waters)
A bright orange victory headband at the finish line
Being with my bro's
Our code for "slow down, my legs are cramping up" was JANET!! (ask Matt for the story)
My dad led the way for a lot of the race (he's in great shape at... 57?)
The slopes were super steep (lucky nobody broke an ankle on the way down)
My piggy-back partner Chuck (Chuck's a big dude)
MOUNT EVEREST (climb a big half-pipe)
Being with my bro's
Growing out beards for a week+ prior to the race (we all tried anyway)
I had to darken my beard thing with a sharpie
Our support group showed up with mustaches on (?!?)
ELECTRIC SHOCK THERAPY to cross the finish line (it was intense)

Filthy muddy hair, face, clothes... and everywhere else you can think of
