Christmas

Christmas is always an exciting time of year but this year we were able to enjoy a Christmas trifecta (three different Christmases: Moses Lake, Boise, and Mesa). We started at home with our small family Christmas. It was fun puting up Christmas lights on our house for the first time, and we finally had a big enough place to put up all our Christmas decor.  Santa came to visit Macy and brought her a little coloring table and chairs as well as some nice toy accessories to go with the kitchen she got for her birthday. Tim and I felt very lucky to have some new additions to our kitchen (a Kitchenaid). Now, we are true cooks! It's quite exciting.

Our fun just continued as we traveled to Boise for "Christmas Adam" (the day before Christmas Eve... Because Adam came before Eve) with the Jones Family. Macy got new pajamas (complete with Elmo slippers) and spent time with her cousins aunts and uncles. My dad made some delicious Prime Rib and we had a great time celebrating "Christmas Adam" with them.

On Christmas Eve we flew to Mesa to spend time with the Schmidt Clan. Macy was great on the plane and loved using her new travel pillow from Great Grandma Miles.

It was fun to celebrate Christmas and Christmas Eve with Tim's family. Macy and Tim got to help act out the nativity with a bunch of the cousins, aunts and uncles (I guess there are some things you never grow out of... or at least at the Schmidt house). Macy made for a pretty cute sheep and Tim was the perfect wiseman.

We shared some great family traditions and hope to carry many over to our home.  Can't forget the morning ceiling pound, stairway Christmas story, and of course the scavenger hunt grand finale.

The 70 degree weather was heavenly.  Tim went out golfing with his dad and bro's and claimed it was such a perfect temperature that you could wear anything you wanted (or even nothing according to Tim) and still be comfortable.  And Macy, couldn't get enough of outdoor play time. She spent half her day trying to trick some of her new friends to help her out the back door and on to the trampoline (Grandma and Grandpa were the biggest suckers). "PaPa" became one of her best friends and she soon learned names (or at least a nice nickname) for each each member of the family.

 It was fun to be able to catch up with our old friends as well. We had some fun  times with Tyler and Lisa (visiting the temple lights and a good lunch) as well as Kasey and Kwon. Macy had a blast with Weston and all of his new christmas presents. It was fun to see Macy and Weston pick right up from where they left off playing last time we got them together. I'm glad that she remembers her friends.

 Overall, we had a great trip to Mesa and loved seeing all of Tim's family (except Paul and David) for the Holidays.

After a nice week in Arizona, we made the journey back to Boise and it was COLD! We got to spend New Year's Eve with the Jones Family and had fun helping my dad out with his catering events at the Youth Stake Dance. Tim did his best to blend in with the younger crowd and helped Parker learn the ropes at his first stake dance.
