Macy Face

It's rare these days to actually get a picture of Macy smiling. Most of the time her grin is even more cheesy than this one but I still thought that this one was cute.

Just a little bit about our growing girl. Macy has been super sweet lately with tons of cuddle time, wanting to read stories on my lap, and taking great care of her dolly but at the same time the terrible, I mean terrific, twos are coming through with extreme tantrums, picking out her own clothes, screaming whenever the curling iron comes close, and definitely not wanting bath time.

As the time gets closer to when our next little girl comes, we have been trying to teach Macy that she has her toys and that there are some things that she can't play with (such as the baby carseat, swing, crib, and mostly all of the little clothes and shoes). It has been a work in progress but I think that she is finally starting to catch on that these are things for the baby (or sissy as we have been calling her). In fact, it was really cute the other day, she wanted to put her baby doll into the carseat and then when we went over to a friends house, she had to bring her baby in the baby carseat to the car with us. I also made Macy some little diapers for her dolly, so that she can pretend to be the mommy and take good care of her baby.

I think that she is going to be a good big sister and I can see it more and more every day. The improvement since our friends have had babies around here too has been drastic. Just last night when I was holding Sophie, Macy didn't cry or act jealous anymore. She even said baby Sophie's name.

I'm so proud of my little girl growing up and can't wait to see her interact with her little sis! Don't get me wrong I'm still scared to have two kids and try to accomplish anything but I am very ready for this pregnancy to be over and to hold my little girl in my arms.

Other tidbits about Macy:


- Yesterday during sacrament meeting we were going through some ofher flash cards and she now knows most of her numbers up to ten. It's really cute to hear her say seven, eight, and nine.
- She loves to sing any songs and has actions for most of the songs she likes. We sing Wheels on the bus, alaphabet song, the itsy bitsy spider, head, shoulders, knees, and toes, popcorn popping, teapot, sunbeam song, this little piggy, and many more every day. (She comes home from nursery every week with a new song for us to sing!)
- She is getting to know her letters. She still gets C and G confused, O and U, but does know at least 50 percent of the letters.
- She loves to play with her dolly. Whether it is putting her to bed, in the swing, carseat, or taking her for a walk in her stroller. She is going to be a great big sister (as long as she doesn't try and throw her down the stairs or drag her along by her ponytail).
- She loves to sit on your lap and read stories or sit on the floor and read them. Most days, her books are all over the floor because she can't just read one.
- She likes to pick out her own clothes.
- She hates to get her hair done.
- She eats most foods and will tell me what she wants (for the most part). She LOVES anything cheese!
- She loves to dance and sing.
- She loves it when Tim comes home from work to play with her. She has been working on her saumersaults, standing one her head, and jumping up and down.
- She knows most of the sounds that animals make. Her favorite are the elephant, pig, lion, and monkey.
- She has no interest in getting potty trained but does say poop after she has gone poop and tootsies or just gas (as Tim taught her to say) after she has some gas.
- She has grown out of most of her 2T clothes. It just not cute anymore when her tummy is sticking out and her pants are too short.
- She copies most of the words that we say, whether she has said them before or not.
