Just one more story about my weekend in Boise! As part of his participation in the YCC, my dad worked closely with Elder Nattress. As a little bit of a thank you for his hard work, we were able to be seated int he temple during one of the three sessions of the temple dedication. A temple dedication is a special thing that I've only been able to attend in a stake center a few times before as a couple of the temple's dedications have been broadcasted in the US but this one was different.
We arrived at the temple a bit early and spent some time talking with the security outside the temple and then ended up in line for the dedication. Surprisingly, and not planned, we were the first in line.
We took a few pictures.

My family waiting to be seated in the temple.
Because we were first in line, my mom stopped to talk with someone she knew, right inside of the temple. Brother Grant, an usher inside the temple, proceeded to tell us where we wanted to sit inside. He directed to a spot just inside the entry that seated us just outside of the President's office. He told us that President Monson would be exiting the President's office just in front of us on his way to the celestial room to preform the dedication. True to Brother Grant's word, President Monson came out and stopped directly in front of our little group and talked to us. After preforming the dedication, which President Monson spoke about the YCC event, he came back by and spoke with us again asking if any of us had been in the event yesterday and proceeded to compliment the job that they had preformed again. This was the only session that they spoke about the event and just happened to be the session that my dad and President Walker, who were in charge of the event, were there.
I won't go into details about the dedication other than to say that once again my testimony of a living prophet, temple work, and our church was reaffirmed. Another day to remember! |

After the dedication, we ran into a crowd outside the temple and realized that if we waited long enough that we would be able to see President Monson again while he left the temple. We called Taylor who brought Macy and Connor out to us at the temple hoping that we would be able to point out the Prophet to them. Macy was so excited (she had been disappointed when she hadn't been able to attend the party for the prophet the day before) to be able to see the prophet. She keeps telling me that the prophet wiggled just one ear. I feel so blessed again to have been able to point out the living prophet to my daughter and for her to have been able to see Him.
