Jehanne's Wedding

Jehanne is one of our most recent friends (Calie's older sister), who moved here just before Elliot was born to be his nanny. She liked it so much that she devised a way to try and stay here definitely.... marriage. It started out as a business arrangement to work the system and grant Jehanne citizenship. She would marry one of her brother's buddies (who they all call "The Creep"). The marriage was strictly business until about a month before their wedding when Jehanne won the green card lottery. Consequently, she no longer needed Andy ("The Creep") to stay in the States. It wasn't long before they both decided that their relationship was more than just a show. They were married August 1, 2009.
The wedding was... Fun. It was really laid back, so fitting for them. They were married in the Rugby Field by a singing preacher. Andy wore shorts, everyone brought their own meat for a bbq, and the guys played cricket after a few drinks.

Honky-Tonk Dance Club

For Jehanne's birthday, Calie had the great idea of going to a country western dance club for line dancing lessons. Sure it was dirty and kind of dodgy (it was on the east side of the river) but we had a blast. Not only was it a bar/dance club and pool hall but its most appealing attraction was the MECHANICAL BULL. The place was full of drunken red necks, half naked waitresses, and Jehanne doing a birthday dance on the bar after a few drinks.

Eight Months

My little Macy face is eight months old today. Hurray! I even sat her on the scale today to see how much she weighs and my guestimate is that she is 20 pounds. The most exciting achievement in the past month is that Macy is a crawler now. She loves it when you clap and especially when you dance (the sillier the better) in front of her. She even loves to talk on the phone. It is the cutest thing to hear her talk to Tim on the phone. I'll have to get a video of it. She is definitely a momma's girl right now (which makes me feel pretty special) and I love it when she puts out her arms and reaches for us. Adorable!
