Going Private...

After a long debate with myself, I've decided that it is time to make our blog private. It will be changing next Sunday. Leave me a comment or send me an email if you want to be invited to view it.

And then there were 4...

Coming in at 13 weeks of age (or is it negative 189 days?) and rumored to be the size of a medium shrimp, our latest addition is on the way. He (or I guess we'll take a girl if we have to) met his doctor (Dr. Nye) for the first time today. It is too early to tell the sex but I didn't care... I was just relieved to hear that there was only one.

Tim's Newest Hobby

Since we moved to Moses Lake... Tim has become very excited about kite boarding. I don't know why he waited so long (One of the best kiteboarding spots in the country is just outside Portlad). He started out with just a little kite a few years ago (a stunt kite) and has gradually moved up to a trainer power kite (3 meters) and now to a full sized kiteboarding kite (14 square meters). The last one he got is so huge. He rolled the thing out in the family room when he first got it... it took up the whole room, probably some twenty feet long.
Even though he hasn't taken any lessons or anything, he thought it would be fun to take out his new (to him) kiteboarding kite. We went out on Moses Lake yesterday to give it a try. After nearly an hour of setting up and trying to figure out how to get the lines to work, he finally got it up and it was a beauty.

Macy had a blast running around on the beach and playing in the sand, popping through her clothes, and playing in her daddy's shirt.

Schmidt Family Pictures

These pictures were taken in Coronado in July but I just got them. Many of them are going to make it up on my still bare walls.
The Schmidt Family: Jim and Rosalyn, Paul and Nikki (Brodie and Aiden), Mike and Jill (Amelia, Lucy, Ivy, and Eli), Nate and Elisabeth, Tim and Brittany (Macy), Matt, Dave, Becca, and Sarah.
Grandma and Grandpa with all the grandkids.... Amelia, Eli, Lucy, Ivy, Brodie, Aiden, and Macy
Nate and Elisabeth (currently living in San Jose, CA)
Mike and Jill with their kids... Amelia, Eli, Lucy, and Ivy (currently living in Gilbert, AZ)
The kids still at home or college: Becca (BYU), Matt (BYU), Dave (on his mission-- Colorado Springs, CO), and Sarah (Mountain View High)
Paul and Nikki with Aiden and Brodie (Aurora, CO)
My cute family.

Little Munchkin

Macy has just been a pile of joy lately. She really gave us a laugh yesterday when she disappeared into the bathroom. We went to check on her a few minutes later to find her with one foot in the toilet (with one of my shoes on). I tried so hard not to laugh as Tim was giving her a timeout but it was just too funny. Sorry, no picture to help describe the story but my camera was downstairs. Here are a few of her most recent adventure just for fun though:

Trying to take a picture of herself.

Updating the Bedroom

I've been wanting to redo our bedroom for a while now but haven't found the right fabric for the job until now. While I was in Boise I found this Pottery Barn comforter (on craigslist) for a great deal and got the juices flowing. This fabric soon followed. It is still a work in progress (I need more pillows for the bed and pictures for the wall) but it's a start.

Curtains... I love the fringe on the top.
The bed... still looking kind of plain. I'm debating about the pillow shams for now but maybe with some throw pillows and a little blanket at the foot of the bed it'll get better.
Don't mind the window up top. It is great in the day but makes for horrible pictures.
Some fun pillowcases that match the curtains.
