25 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14,15, 16, 17, & !8

Wow! I'm behind. We'll blame it on the fact that we were in Portland last weekend and we are all trying to get caught back up on our sleep.

Day 8:  I'm grateful for craigslist. This may sound a little funny but I found the cutest birthday present for Macy today on craigslist. The present is still a surprise but I'm so excited!!!!!!!

Day 9: Naptime, Naptime, Naptime! I feel like I can't get enough sleep with this pregnancy, and it is so nice to have Macy still take a nap and that I can snuggle down and take one too!

Day 10: I'm grateful for little machines called Ultrasounds that make it so that I can find out that we are having a little GIRL in March.

Day 11: I'm grateful for a sister who is so willing to share her house with us. I called her up at the last today and asked if we could come stay and she said YES!!!!

Day 12:  I'm grateful for days off that we can spend as a family. It is so fun to be able to do things with my Tim and my Macy. It is a wonderful break from daily life.

Day 13: I'm grateful for old friends. It was so wonderful to see Calie, Anthony, Elliot, Megan, Tyler, Courtney, Mike, and Connor. I'm so glad that we can stay in touch and be such good friends even though we live forever apart.

Day 14: I'm grateful for a good reliable car. We drove home from Portland today and it is a relief to not have to worry about car trouble as we drive.

Day 15: I'm grateful for days that Tim can come home from work early. Today, he was in Quincy and that usually equates to him leaving at 6:00 a.m. and not getting home until 7:00 or 7:30 p.m. (It's an hour drive to the satellite clinic), but today... He finished early and was home by 6:00. After a long day of unpacking and cleaning, it was so nice.

Day 16: I'm grateful for new friends and the fact that I can throw baby showers for them. Moving to a new place is always hard but I'm grateful that I've been able to find some people in similar positions (who are also having babies) and that I can help them out in their times of need.

Day 17: I love teaching Macy new things. Today, she started doing head, shoulders, knees, and toes. We've been working on it for a few weeks now and all of the sudden today she started doing all of the actions by herself.

Day 18: I am so glad to be a mom. I love seeing my little girl ham it up. Today, she would look at me and wave... then blow me kisses. It was adorable!

Portland Fun

This past weekend, we got to go back to Portland for Tim's first CE Class. It was so nice to go back and see our old friends. (Oh how I miss them!) It took Macy a few hours to warm back up to the crowd but soon she realized just who we were hanging out with again. Our days were filled with all of the fun things that we miss about Portland, the food, the fun activities for kids, and of course the shopping.

Macy was a horrible sleeper while we were going, averaging a bedtime of 11:30 or later every night. I miss the days when she could sleep anywhere. She wouldn't go to sleep in a play pen and ended up sleeping in bed with us every night we were gone. At least the hotel had a huge bed and there was plenty of room to go around.

 We had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen with Calie, Anthony, Elliott, Courtney, Mike, Connor, Jehanne, Andy, and Janet.

 Saturday was awesome. Anthony, the kids, and I went to the Children's Museum while Calie and Tim headed off to their CE Class on impacted teeth. Macy and Elliot had a blast running around the museum, playing in the truck pit (although I think Anthony had more fun in their than the kids did), and playing with clay and tinker toys. Macy even made a new friend in the tree house room. It was so nice to have an indoor place to go. I tell you I really don't miss the dreary weather. It rained the whole time. 

Macy and Elliot had a great time together. It was so cute, they loved giving each other kisses although they each took turns being excited. One time Macy would love it and Elliot would cry and then vice versa the next time. I miss having little friends the same age as Macy to play with.

We finished our day with some delicious food at Typhoon with Tyler and Megan. (Tim forgot to bring the camera so I don't have any pictures... :( )

The first night we were in Portland, we stayed with Courtney and Mike. Macy and Connor became fast friends in the morning!

Tim, Macy and I went to the hospital this morning for my scheduled 20 week ultrasound. Everything looks great so far and we found out that we were having a...

25 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 5, 6, & 7

Day 5: I'm thankful for new friends in my new town. It was wonderful to go to Super Saturday today and have people to sit with and talk to.

Day 6: I'm thankful for Testimony Meeting. It is so nice to sit and listen to the voices of those in a ward (the same no matter what ward you attend) and be filled with the spirit.

Day 7: I'm thankful today for a carpet cleaner. There is nothing worse than having puck sitting on your carpet for hours while you run to the store and rent one. It was so handy to be able to pull mine out of the closet after Macy pucked today.

25 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 2, 3, & 4

Day 2: I'm grateful for a wonderful sewing machine. It is making sewing my Christmas quilt quite enjoyable! it's is going to be amazing when it's done...

Day 3: Today I'm grateful for a husband who has one day off during the week so that I can have some ME time. It was fantastic to be able to go get my hair done and not have to worry about finding a babysitter for Macy Face. Thank you Tim!

Day 4: I'm grateful for a little girl who plays quietly in her crib so that I can some extra (much needed) sleep in the morning. I went in at 9:30 this morning and she was just playing with her teddy bear and her sippy. It was wonderful.

25 Days Of Thanksgiving - Day 1

Being the first day of November, I just want to take the next 25 days before Thanksgiving to help me be more grateful for the things that I have in my life. This is all for my benefit and I'm sorry you guys have to read it every day but it's the only way I'm going to remember and keep track.

There are a lot of things that I'm grateful for today. Macy had a rough night last night. She woke up at 2 a.m. just screaming. I couldn't get her to calm down and finally had to rouse Tim from his peaceful slumber to help out. He got her to calm down after many primary songs but we still had to change a very nasty diaper. Her poor bum was so red and I don't know that I have ever heard her cry like that before. You could just tell that she was in pain. Poor girl! So, the things that I'm thankful today are Children's Motrin (for helping take Macy's pain away), Desitin to help her red bum get better, a husband who is willing to get up in the middle of the night to help calm his screaming daughter (even though he had to get up at 5 a.m. this morning), and for primary songs that help soothe the soul.

Halloween!

One fo the benefits of living in a small town are all of the cool activities that they put on. Two Saturdays ago, the Boys and Girls Club, put on a harvest festival for the little kids. They each got to pick out a pumpkin, and had various activities for each of them to do. Macy was in heaven.

Our Ward also put on a Halloween party with trick or treating for all the families. We were in charge of the fishing pond room (and won first prize for the best decorated room!). Macy had a blast playing all the different games (cheating in  the best way possible for a little almost two year old). She loved picking up candy from the different booths and now has a nice little stash that I'm hiding for special times. Suckers are her absolute favorite. That and M&M's.  Macy dressed up as the tooth fairy was a mighty cute tooth fairy, if I do say so myself. Tim dressed up as Count Dracula with real fangs (He and the other dentists at MLCHC had a hay day making these for each other.) They were really cool looking. Good work Tim! He even complained the next day because he couldn't get all of the makeup off (It made for a great introduction for his talk on Sunday.)

 Macy was supposed to be throwing the bean bag into the bucket but she knew how to cheat the system and still get the prize. Smart kiddo!

We were a little slow this year getting started on all of our Halloween traditions. Maybe it is because we don't have our old friends to do them with or we've just had some crazy busy weeks lately. But here are the finished products this year. Macy had fun decorating her pumpkin with stickers. Tim made a nice ghoulish looking thing that was eating a little pumpkin and spewing his guts and mine looks something like the koolaid man.
