While Tim and I were in the hospital having Sydney... Macy went with my parents to Seattle for the weekend. The timing couldn't have been better. While they were in Seattle, they spent time with Connor, Mike, and Courtney and supported Taylor in his robotic's competition. Macy had so much fun that she actually fell asleep on Jennifer's lap. She was in heaven and I can't think of a better thing to occupy her time while we were in the hospital.

Presents for Macy & More
With all the big changes when Syd came home from the hospital, I wanted something to make Macy feel special. I was really concerned about how she was going to act and I was even more worried when she threw a big tantrum in the hospital because Tim gave Syd a bow to wear in her hair and Macy wanted it. So, Sunday after church (when she was again throwing a big tantrum because she had wanted to stay for nursery and Tim, my mom, and Macy came home early to make sure I was ok) Macy got to open her big sister presents. This new magnetic doll has become one of her favorite toys and then cute little Big Sister pjs. She wasn't too interested in the pajamas though and ended up shoving them back in the bag with the tissue paper.
Needless to say... things have improved big time between Macy and her sissy. Macy now loves to help wipe her bum and give her her pacificer. It's really cute.
Macy has also found a new quiet place... I turned around the other day and found her sitting under the piano reading her books. It's a completely new thing but I'm glad that she is finding quiet activities to entertain herself.
Macy In Boots
Kisha's mom got Macy these pink cowboy boots a few weeks ago and they have become her favorite footwear (that and Tim's favorite for her to wear.) Macy even wore them during her nap yesterday. Silly Girl! Tim has been on the hunt for the perfect outfit to go with her boots and my mom brought this little tutu dress for her last week. They match perfectly! Her boots also go great with her easter dress that she wore to church last week.

One Week Old
Our little Syd is a week old today. She is a sweetheart and we are enjoying all of her sweet cuddles. Syd is still staying tiny and is still wearing preemie clothes. She is becoming a champ at nursing but still takes the occacsional bottle from her dad. She has been sleeping decently (two to three hours a night) but sleeps the best as long as she is in bed with us (the one night I let her she slept for two four hour chunks... It made me think that I can really do this). She really likes to be cuddled. She isn't quite sure about the whole bathing yet but I'm sure she will come around.
Macy has been a really great helper with her and loves to help wipe her bum when she has a poopy diaper and giving her binky when she cries or really anytime that Macy thinks that she should have it. She loves calling Syd baby and likes to get her dolls out to try to copy me.
Tim has introduced her to the world of THE SPINNING SONG with Macy as well as tries to copy the actions that Macy does for songs like WHEELS ON THE BUS and the ITSY BITSY SPIDER. It's really cute. Syd also loves to cuddle up with Tim while he is watching basketball.
Besides being a big helper, she has also managed to get into trouble whenever I'm not looking. This was yesterday... she decided to climb in the sink in the bathroom and was playing in the vaseline. Of course, she managed to do all of this with her cowboy boots on. Although trouble it was really cute.
Our sweet angel. I do feel like Tim and I are more chill this time around. We let her sleep when she's tired and are trying to enjoy the little moments when she just cuddles into our neck. I know she won't stay this little forever but for now, she's PRECIOUS and we all love her to pieces!

Labor and Delivery
On Wednesday March 16th, I went in for my 38 week appointment to see Dr. Nye. I had been feeling a little off all day but didn't know why until the nurse took my blood pressure and it was 142/92. Dr. Nye came in to check it when he started my appointment and found it to be 142/102. (This same things happened at 38 weeks with Macy.) Needless to say, he was a little worried and told me to go home, take it easy (as easy as you can with a two-year-old), get some labs drawn, and to come back the next day for a recheck of my blood pressure. Thinking that this might be it, Tim and I got a babysitter and went to a movie for a last little date night before our little girl came. It was so nice.
Thursday afternoon I went in for my recheck only to get to the clinic and have them call to say, that Dr. Nye was out of the office and wouldn't be back in for another 45 minutes. Well, we were already at the clinic so decided just to hang out with Tim and his assistant downstairs in the Dental section until they called to tell me that he was back from the hospital. Just as Dr. Nye's nurse called to tell me that he was back my parents showed up (they were staying the night with us before heading to Seattle for Taylor's robotic's competition). It was perfect timing. My parents headed off with Macy and I went up to see Dr. Nye. After a quick blood pressure check again to find out it was still in the 140s , we sat down to talk about our options. With the questions posed.... Do you want to be induced? My answer was YES! (Dr. Nye said later to Tim that I looked like I have won the lottery.) Little did I know he would then say, OK, while head on over to the hospital and they'll get you started. WOW! I didn't think it would actually happen that night. I mean, I was prepared physically (I had just gotten a pedicure the week before and gotten my hair down on Wednesday) and very ready to be done being pregnant, that's for sure.
I meet Tim in the hallway on his way to meet in Dr. Nye's office and told him the good news. He was a bit shocked to say the least but soon we were headed down to talk to the dental director about getting Tim the day off on Friday and trying to find someone to cover his patients for him. After getting that all squared away, we headed on over to the hospital(by this time it was almost 6 p.m.).
After getting settled into our room up on the labor and delivery floor Dr. Nye showed up about seven and started me on a medicine called cervidal (Tim called it a tape worm). He told us that the cervidal was to help soften my cervix and that they would go ahead and start the Pitocin at 6 a.m. the next morning but to be prepared just in case it didn't work and then they would send me home the next evening for bed rest. With the cervidal placed, Tim headed home to get some dinner (seeing as I couldn't eat anything until after the baby came, he was being nice) and to pick up some things. We ended up at the hospital without a camera or any other belonginngs (As much as I hoped to be induced when I went in, I wasn't prepared for it to happen quite so quickly).
When Tim got back, we settled down for the night and tried to get some sleep. Let's say, Tim got some sleep and I just laid there while the contractions got stronger and stronger. About 2 a.m., I called the nurse to see if I could get some pain medicine. I had been thinking about it for an hour but wasn't sure that I was really in labor and didn't want to get anything if I wasn't progressing along. The nurse checked me and said that I was between and 4 and a 5 and that my labor had really started. We woke up Tim and moved to the delivery room and they called the anesthesiologist on call to get me my Epidural. The nurse anesthestist couldn't get there fast enough though. That hour was the most painful hour of my life. Tim said he had never seen me in such pain before. Finally the epidural was placed and I got some relief. The cervidal had really done it's job though because when the nurse checked me again, I was at a seven and progressing quickly. (No wonder it hurt so much!) After my epidural, I managed to get some sleep (a whole hour and a half), before our wonderful nurse (Loraine) came in and told me at 5 that I was fully dilated. After an hour of laboring down, the nurse came back and we practiced pushing for a bit before she decided to call the doctor. It took Dr. Nye a little while to get to the hospital and about 8:15, I started pushing. At 8:51 a.m. our little angel was born.

Grammy Suzie, Parker, and Sydney
Macy didn't know what to think about the hospital, a new baby in the family, and then to top it all off she didn't want to share any of her bows with her sister. It was a rough few minutes. We're hoping by the time we get home that Macy will have time to settle in and adjust to our new addition.
The sweet angel.
The Proud Papa just seconds after she was born. Can't you see the excitement in his eye?
Dr. Nye with our precious girl. I feel so lucky to have such a good doctor to take care of us. He was awesome.

Fondue
Our favorite fruit is strawberries. Our favorite vegetable is broccoli. Our new favorite way to eat them is FONDUE.
Cardon put on a great Fondue night on Sunday. The cheese was fantastic for veggies and bread and the chocolate amazing with just about any type of fruit, marshmallows, and the best rice krispy treats.
Macy wasn't too interested in the dipping aspect but loved filling her cup full of Marshmallows and rubbing them in her hair.
Macy is getting to be a good big sister and helped hold baby E (Eithan) and loved playing the birdie game on Wii Fit with her daddy.
