Memorial Weekend

We had a great weekend at the cabin with grammy and papa.  The girls walked through the beautiful forest (hoping to find the horses), played in the neighbors tree house, Kensie took a bit of a fall (almost needing stitches), and we finished off with some massive willow tree removal. We attempted some dutch oven cooking (peach cobbler) which was fun but tried a sub-par recipe and finished off with a delicious BBQ.

Last Day of Preschool/Aquarium

Syd has loved preschool with Ms. Melissa.
She comes home from school every day learning new things. Most recently she has been learning all about sharks and sea animals leading up to the field trip to the aquarium. She has enjoyed learning and reciting all of her poems and songs. She still struggles to write her name but knows how to spell SYD.  S for Snake!

Since Macy got out of school the day before she got to go on the field trip with us.  Definitely their favorite part was the walk through bridge where you can see the animals, above, below, and to the sides of us.  The sharks, the sting rays, and all of the colorful fish.
Syd was extremely excited to see the jelly fish and in a tank filled with black lights it was fun to see them shine different colors.

Kindergarten Graduation

We are so proud of our Kindergarten Graduate. She grown so much this past year in maturity and smarts.  She was so proud that she was such a good listener to her teacher that her owl never once left its limb in the tree. She loves PE and Music and learning.  She became a math master and word wizard passing off her kindergarten and first grade words.  I'm sure she was one of Ms. Kolodny's teacher's pets.  She wants to be a dentist when she grows up and a mom but mostly right now she really wants to be a dentist like her daddy.

 First Grade Here She Comes.

Father's Day

What do you get a father who has it all? We shared a father-son experience and went to the barber shop for a straight-razor shave. It was perfect timing too because we witnessed Joe's final shave (at Joe's Barber Shop in Mesa... he's 91 years old). We left bleeding a bit but grinning from such a unique and memorable experience.

Dance Pictures

The girls are always super excited to get to wear makeup and I've only let them for halloween and dance recitals and of course their pictures too. They seem so grown up with their curled hair and makeup on.

Diamondbacks

One of the perks of our pogo passes is the multitude of ideas we get. The Diamondbacks game was just one of the fun things. The girls were so excited when we got there and they got to sit by their friends (Rachel, Andrew, and Kendall).  We didn't last the whole game but when its free it's okay.  The girls got really excited anytime GoldSchmidt got up to bat and loved seeing all the balls go into the crowd.

Sickies

It has been never ending this year in terms of sickness and doctor's visits.  Yet the fever has struck Syd once again.  Four days of high fevers with little relief.  Poor Sydo!

Hungry Girl

This girl comes home from school hungry every day.  I swear she has a bottomless pit of a stomach.

California/Disneyland

With the annual Dental Convention in Disneyland, the girls and I have tagged along and get to enjoy the perks.  We spent the good part of the week in California, Disneyland, California Adventure, and the beach.  It was beautiful, warmer than usual, but wonderful!

My brother, Taylor, had just gotten home from his mission and joined us in our fantastic adventures. It was so nice to have another adult to help with the kids and make it so we could enjoy all the rides too!

My settings were way off on the lighting here.  Oops.

The three princesses... Elsa, Snow White, and Rapunzel.

 Splash Mountain.

Ariel
 Goofy
 Aurora

 Jessy
The petting zoo was one of Kensie's highlights... that and the tea cups.
Snow White
 Mulan
 Belle
Merida
Syd's first love... Doc McStuffins (but was scared to death for some reason to see her).

Macy's favorite line.... "Mom takes a picture of me."
In line to see the Monster's Inc Ride.

Even though we had fast passes to see Elsa and Anna, we still had to wait in line for 45 minutes.  It was definitely worth it in the end.
Kensie rode the carousel at least six times while Macy rode Scream.  They still talk about it 3... 2... 1... Scream.  Macy loved every single ride in Disneyland and California Adventure.

Tim joined us in California Adventure the second day after he finished up at his Convention.
Olaf and Arendelle were amazing.  Syd loves Olaf and wants to dress up as Olaf for Halloween this year. They had real snow and we even had a little snowball fight.

Newport Beach, CA

We love the ocean and the beach, the sand between our toes, and the freeze of the ocean water.  The day we spent at the beach was chilly enough they didn't swim for long but it still felt great.

The whole reason we went to California.  The CDA convention for this handsome Dentist.
